Biographical Note

 

Arthur J. Drucker was born February 3, 1916. He received his Doctorate of Philosophy in Social Psychology in 1949 from Purdue University.  Drucker’s main focus was in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.  He joined the Army Research Institute in 1951 and stayed until he retired in 1981.  Drucker rejoined the ARI as a Senior Policy Specialist and with Joseph Zeidner wrote Behavioral Science in the Army: A Corporate History of the Army Research Institute.

 

Scope and Content

 

 

This collection consists of Drucker’s dissertation, a large paper on attitude measures, and reprints of articles that he published.  Also in this collection is the list of Army Research Institute’s publications from 1940 – 1983, and Drucker’s Federal Women’s Program address: Brief History of ARI Women, 1940 -1986.  The file on History of the Army Research Institute contains papers pertaining to the publishing of Drucker and Zeidner’s book.  The photographs have been removed to the Still Images Collection. Three book titles are also in this collection and have been removed to be cataloged; they are Behavioral Science in the Army: A Corporate History of the Army Research Institute, Race Relations in the U.S. Army in the 1970’s, and Personnel Research and System Advancement.
