Biographical Note:
Carl Porter Duncan was born December 27th,
1921. He received his Doctorate of
Philosophy in Psychology from Brown
University, Rhode Island
in1947. He also accepted a teaching position in the Department of Psychology
from Northwestern University in Evanston,
Illinois that year. Duncan
was president of the Midwestern Psychological Association in 1966 and a past
Fellow of the American Psychological Association’s Society for the History of
Psychology.
Scope and Content:
This collection contains Duncan’s
diploma from Brown University, Curriculum Vitae of former students and letters
from former students and colleagues on the occasion of his 25th year
teaching at Northwestern
University. Also of note are letters from attendees of
the 1929 International Congress of Psychology at Yale reminiscing about the
speakers.
