Dear Alumnus,

 

My name is Andrew Stankavich and I am the current president of the University of Akron chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.  I would like to invite you to attend the 5th Annual Alumni Appreciation Night being held in the Student Union game room on Friday, March 28th, 2008 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

 

The University of Akron AIChE is proud to announce that we will be hosting the 2008 North Central Student Regional Conference.  The conference will draw students from schools throughout the Great Lakes region and will showcase the regional Chem-E-Car competition. 
We have decided to incorporate Alumni Appreciation Night on the Friday preceding the main activities in hopes that you will enjoy seeing our preparations, and perhaps stay to join us in welcoming attendees as they arrive later in the evening (8:30-10:00).  As always, the event offers the opportunity to meet with former professors, current students, and fellow alumni.  You might also enjoy seeing the changes on campus since your last visit.

 

Alumni Appreciation Night is a great opportunity for students to gain insight into chemical engineering opportunities outside of academia, and for Alumni to meet future colleagues and possible employees while maintaining contact with The University of Akron.  It also will allow you the opportunity to learn about the current research being conducted at your alma mater.

 

For this year’s event, we have reserved the Student Union game room, located on the 1st floor.  The game room includes 8 bowling lanes, 13 billiard tables, music, and TVs.  Food and beverages will be served.
