Charles Beneke teaches 2D Design and Drawing I and is the 2D Area Coordinator within the Foundation Program. Prior to his work at the Myers School of Art he was an Assistant Professor of Art at the University of Wyoming where he led the Foundation Program.
Beneke’s work investigates the continuous process of consumption, both physical and perceptual, that is fundamental to our existence. With consumption and digestion of food as metaphor for the ingestion and rumination of sensory experiences, his images explore the fusion of diverse elements forming the meals that sustain our souls.
Beneke has recently exhibited at the Northwest Art Center, Minot, North Dakota; the Dahl Arts Center, Rapid City, South Dakota; Columbia College, Columbia, Missouri; Fine Arts Institute of the San Bernadino County Museum, Redlands, California, Period Gallery, Omaha, Nebraska; Cloyde Snook Gallery, Alamosa, Colorado; The Contemporary Museum, Baltimore, Maryland; Museum of Art of Espirito Santo, Vitoria City, Brazil; Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, Missouri; Susanna Keith Gallery, Dexter, Minnesota.
