George is a graduate of the Ohio
State University (B.F.A. Painting, l961)
and The University of Louisville
(M.A. Painting, l964). He studied with Carl Holty who was, among other things, a student of Hans Hoffman
and the first president of the American Abstract Artists League. George's career in graphic design started in l960 in Canton, Ohio, which was followed
by art direction in Columbus, Ohio, then 16 years of design and production work in New York City for the adver-tising and publications industries.
He was also a practicing painter while in New York and his work is in various corporate and private collections there and in England. George has devoted the last 15 years to teaching at The University of Akron and that was proceeded with teaching assignments in Kentucky, Rhode Island, New York, and Ohio.
