JANICE TROUTMAN

Janice holds a masters degree in graphic design from Kent State University. She has taught for the School of Art at The University of Akron since l989. She is currently the coordinator of the graphic design department. Along with teaching, Janice freelances graphic design for advertising agencies and corporations. Her other interests include limited edition handmade books and letterpress printing. She is active in the design community; a member of American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), University and College Designers Association (UCDA), and is a board member for the Advertising Federation of Greater Akron. Previous to teaching atthe university level, she was an art director in an advertising agency where her clients included General Electric, American Greetings, Evenflo and Children's Hospital. Her work has won numerous awards, on the regional and national level, in the area of corporate identity, information systems and invitation/card design.
