MARK SOPPELAND

Mark Soppeland was a BFA graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1974 and went on to receive his MFA from Ohio State University in 1976. He is currently a Professor of Art at the Myers School of Art at the University of Akron where he will begin his twenty-eight year of teaching this fall. A painter, sculptor and designer he has shown his work in over three hundred exhibitions on four continents. He has been awarded four Ohio Arts Council Individual Artists' Fellowships. This past summer he spent two months in Prague, Czech Republic on an OAC International Artist in Residence Fellowship. Professor Soppeland is currently working on a forty-foot tall mural for Suma.
