ART ON THE ARC

Date: Tuesday November 23, 2004, 1p.m.
Place: In the green space between Wolf Ledges Parkway, Arc Drive, and East
Exchange Street

More Information: Student artists, under the direction of Laila Voss, an assistant lecturer at The University of Akron's Mary Schiller Myers School of Art, university administrators and city officials.

Dedicating a temporary installation of public works of art that represent
different aspects of Akron's history, including the rubber industry, paper
dolls, marbles, and archaeology.

This is the first installation of public art planned for the Wolf Ledges
Arc. In the future, new groups of art students will create works for similar, temporary installations at the site.

Funding is being provided by University Park Alliance, an initiative of
community partners to help revitalize the neighborhoods around the University, with support from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
