BIDWELL VISITING ARTIST, LECTURE
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2005 - 6pm

Director of photography and associate professor at Columbia University’s School for the Arts, well-published photographer Thomas Roma will talk about his work which frequently narrates scenes from his native Brooklyn’s churches, subways and streets. As the featured Bidwell visiting artist, Thomas Roma's lecture will take place on Tuesday, November 15, 2005, at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of Folk Hall, Myers School of Art.
Thomas Roma is a two-time Guggenheim Fellow, and has exhibited his photographs in solo shows at the Museum of Modern Art and the International Center of Photography. His work is in numerous collections, including The Art Institute of Chicago, The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and The Los Angeles County Museum of Art. He is also a founding contributing photographer to DoubleTake Magazine. Roma’s monographs include Found in Brooklyn, Higher Ground, Come Sunday, Sunset Park, and Enduring Justice.
