7100: 145 THREE-DIMENSIONAL DESIGN
Course Description: Fundimental information about the theory and practice of visual design as applied to materials, objects and enviornments in the real world with lecture and studio experience.
Rationale: Basic level foundation courses prepare and encourage students to explore ideas as they develop formal skills in preparation for upper level studio courses.
Course Objectives:
1. To introduce students to the formal elements, principles, and aspects of three-dimensional composition.
2. To develop students' abilities to apply formal constructs of visual thinking to the communication of content through three-dimensional media.
3. To develop students' abilities to analyze three-dimensional artwork critically through examination of the formal constructs, material, process, and context.
4. To introduce students to the art making process.
