Myers School of Art: Foundation Program

Course Description:
Orientation to the information and stratagies necessary to aid new art students in their understanding of the field of art.

Rationale:
An orientation to the Myers School of Art helps ensure that students understand the rigors of the Foundation Program and the art curriculum while assimilating new students into The University of Akron art communinty.

Course Objectives:
1. To familiarize art majors with the School of Art: faculty, majors, minors, degrees, accreditation, gallery, visiting artists, workshops, etc.
2. To familiarize art majors with oppurtunities for guidence within the School of Art: Foundations Review, major review, senior exhibition, mentorship, etc.
3. To familiarize art majors with the offerings available in the School of Art: scholarrships, travel and meterials grants, exhibition opportunities, internships, student art organizations, etc.
