Myers School of Art: Foundation Program

The goals of the Foundation Program are to: 1. Introduce students to the world of contemporary art, art history, and design.

2. Introduce students to the possibilities available in the Myers School of Art, The Uinversity of Akron, and the Northeast Ohio art community.

3. Provide students with the necesary preparation for intermediate level studio and art history classes.

4. Introduce students to the Myers School of Art mentoring program and Student Art League.

5. Establish an air of excellence.

6. Establish high standards of discipline and professionalism.

7. Establish a common vocabulary.

8. Engage and challenge the exceptional students while fostering growth in all others.

9. Identify and redirect weak students.
