PROGRAM HISTORY
 

MISSION STATEMENT

The A&S Careers Program is committed to focusing on the specific career needs of students in each of the three divisions of Buchtel College.  The Program meets its commitment by:

1. making available to undergraduate and graduate students up-to-date reference materials for career exploration and job skills development particular to the needs of majors in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences;

2. creating links between students, alumni, and local organizations so that students may seek the advice, expertise, and mentoring of career professionals to gain knowledge of, and practical experience in, given careers;

3. providing department-specific and skills-development workshops where students can learn more about the general world of work, as well as field-specific internships which meet the needs of localized college populations;

4. anticipating and mapping the particular evolving curricular and internship needs of Buchtel College by facilitating employer-faculty partnering
