About the Ensemble
In keeping with the tradition of great university concert bands, The University of Akron Concert Band performs the finest in band literature. The Concert Band, conducted by Galen S. Karriker, is open to all students and is composed of music majors as well as talented students from other disciplines who wish to continue their musical experience in college.

Rehearsals
The Concert Band meets on Monday and Wednesday from 4:25 to 6:05 p.m. and on Friday from 3:20 to 4:30 p.m.

Auditions
Auditions are required for placement in both the Symphonic and Concert Bands and are held the first and second day of class during the fall semester. A sign up sheet is available outside the band office in Guzzetta Hall approximately two weeks prior to the start of school. Audition materials will be available during the summer months but you must contact the band office to receive the necessary information and excerpts.
