The first round of Colorguard Auditions for the 2008 University of Akron Marching Band will be held on Saturday April 26, 2008 starting at 9:00 a.m. The second round of Colorguard Auditions will be held on Saturday May 10, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. with a one-hour break for lunch on your own.  Both rounds of auditions will be held in Guzzetta Hall (corner of Hill and Buchtel Streets).  Please meet in the atrium.  Attendance at both auditions is mandatory.

Audition requirements include:

1) A single spinning routine of 2-3 minutes.

In addition, you will be asked to learn a short routine to evaluate your adaptability, presence, style, snap, precision, 'desire', and memory. Please prepare your short routine to taped/CD music - a cassette player will be provided. You may involve swing or other types of flags into your routine however, the majority of the work should be with a normal flag.

The second round of Colorguard auditions on May 12, 2007 will be a full colorguard rehearsal.  You will learn routines for our school songs and will be judged on your attitude, ability to learn and adapt quickly, and your overall performance.

No specific uniform is required for these tryouts. As this audition will be held outside, please come prepared to perform in comfortable and appropriate clothing. In case of inclement weather, we will hold auditions at an indoor site.

Spectators, guests, and parents are not permitted to observe auditions.
