Dr. Phil Hoffman, General Manager of Z-TV in the School of Communications, has been the voice of the Zips Marching Band for 22 years. A graduate of The University of Akron’s School of Communication, Phil has worked in radio and television since 1982, when he started his broadcasting career with WKDD-FM and WSLR-AM. He has also worked for WAKR/WONE, WCUE, WTIG, WOAC-TV, WAKC-TV, WNEO/WEAO-TV, WAPS-FM and many others.  He has also won many awards for documentaries that he has produced for Western Reserve Public Television, 45/49.

Phil lives in Wadsworth, OH with his wife Joan and daughters Marissa and Mina.
