Phil Hoffman, Manager of Media Production Facilities in the School of Communications, has been the voice of the Zips Marching Band for 18 years. A graduate of The University of Akron’s School of Communication, Phil has worked in Northeast Ohio media since 1982, when he started his broadcasting career with WKDD-FM and WSLR-AM. Since then, he has worked for WAKR/WONE, WCUE, WTIG, and WAPS-FM. He also spent five years as a reporter and producer for WAKC-TV 23 in Akron.

Phil lives in Wadsworth, OH with his wife Joan and daughters Marissa and Mina.
