MBA CONCENTRATION IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP
The graduate program in Entrepreneurship is open
to the entire university. Even students with a non-business background may be admitted to our graduate programs and permission can be granted for non-business graduate students to take relevant entrepreneurship courses. Students enrolled in the entrepreneurship
courses come from Polymer Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Music,
Law, Physics, Education, Nursing, etc., in addition to Business.
This dynamic combination of students, working with actual companies
in the development of their businesses, allows the students a rich
“practical” experience which will benefit them for the
rest of their lives. Students learn about the different facets of
entrepreneurship (e.g., starting a business, buying a business or
franchise, managing a family business, corporate entrepreneurship,
working for a small business, or non-profit entrepreneurship) from
faculty who have been successful entrepreneurs. This innovative
“experiential” program allows students to interact with
entrepreneurs from the business community through guest speaking
engagements, field trips, internships, and small business consulting
projects. Business plans which are developed in the program are
also entered into the University’s Annual Business Plan Competition.
