2006 Annual Entrepreneurship Awards Banquet
to be held Saturday, April 8, 2006 at the University of Akron’s
Student Union from 12:30-2:30 PM.
- Outstanding Entrepreneurship Student: Any student (undergraduate or graduate, business or non business) who has demonstrated their ability to learn, lead, and practice entrepreneurship.
- Most Innovative Entrepreneurship Student: The definition of innovation is a process that begins with an invention, and results in the introduction of a new product, process, or service to the marketplace (Edwards and Gordon, 1984). This award is given to any student at the university who takes an existing concept, product, service, program, and improves upon this to make it significantly better.
- Entrepreneurial Student Spirit Award: This award goes to any student at the University who shows their passion for entrepreneurship by marketing and promoting entrepreneurship throughout the University and the community. This award also goes to a student who mentors other students about the value of entrepreneurship.
- Academic Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award This award goes to any faculty member (business or non business) member who has made a significant impact on the entrepreneurship program.
- Alumni Entrepreneur of the Year Award: This award goes to an alumnus of the University of Akron who has made the biggest impact on the entrepreneurship program.
- Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award: This award goes to an entrepreneur who has given back to the community without any expectations of getting anything in return.
- Outstanding Entrepreneurial Leadership Award: This award goes to an individual or organization that has shown extraordinary entrepreneurial leadership abilities.
- Outstanding Entrepreneurial Contribution Award: This award goes to an individual or organization that has contributed the most to the community at large.
