FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who can be nominated and who can submit a nomination?
A nominee must have the qualifications as specified in the descriptions of the awards under the awards link. Nominations can be submitted by anyone who is associated with a student, individual, or organization—other students, professors, administrators, spouses, employees, bankers, attorneys, public relations managers, etc. Self-nominations are also encouraged.

Are nomination forms kept confidential?
Yes. Information from the nomination forms is used only by Fitzgerald Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies. Information about nominees is not released to anyone else without prior approval.

Who are the judges?
The judges include entrepreneurs and prominent leaders from academia, business, and/or the media.

How many award recipients will be selected?
The number of winners in each category will be determined by the quality of nominations.

When is the Entrepreneurship Awards Banquet?
The Entrepreneur Awards Banquet will be on Saturday, April 8, 2006 from 9:00 AM-2:00 PM at the Student Center on the campus of the University of Akron. It will be immediately after our Business Plan Competition. Lunch is free for everyone who attends.

What is the Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame?
The Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame contains a list of all of the previous winners in each category. The Hall of Fame was created to celebrate the accomplishments leading entrepreneurs in the community and within the University and make the public aware of their accomplishments.
