THE UNIVERSITY OF AKRON ’S
ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM

The University of Akron ’s entrepreneurship program is open to all university students. The program provides opportunities for students to obtain an undergraduate minor or certificate in entrepreneurship. Graduate students are able to obtain an MBA with a concentration in entrepreneurship.

The entrepreneurship program offers students opportunities to learn about creativity, idea generation, opportunity recognition, feasibility studies, marketing and financial plans, and business plans. Students learn different facets of entrepreneurship from faculty who have all been successful entrepreneurs. This innovative “experiential” program allows students to interact with entrepreneurs from the business community through guest speaking engagements, field trips, internships, business plan competitions, and small business consulting projects. Students also have the opportuntity to participate in our new student entrepreneurship club called Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE).
