| SIFE REMAINS STRONG
SIFE competed at the 2007 regional competition in Cleveland this past year and had a strong showing. The team finished 13 projects during the year. Click here to see the annual report.
PROJECT TASK 1: CREATED NEW WEB SITE FOR CHARITIES IN NORTHEAST OHIO
The students created a web site, http://www.ohiocharities.org/. The mission is to create a centralized location on the Internet for individuals and organizations looking to find information about charities and non-profit organizations located in Northeast Ohio. SIFE members learned about E-Commerce Development, Internet Marketing, Public Relations, and Fund Raising. The project gives back to the community by making individuals and groups more aware of the non-profit organizations in Northeast Ohio and how they can volunteer their time and/or make donations to them.
PROJECT TASK 2: DEVELOPED A NEW WEB SITE FOR THE UA CHAPTER
UA’s SIFE Chapter has developed a high-quality website, which provides a foundation for introducing our chapter's operations and accomplishments to the university students, staff, mass media, and global audience. In addition, certain functionalities implemented in this website (namely a private message board system) make it easy for SIFE members to communicate without the somewhat restrictive boundaries of e-mail and weekly meetings. We plan to organize future projects with the aid of our site as a hub for internal communications as well as an interactive billboard which can be included on every e-mail and business card we distribute.
PROJECT TASK 3: MANAGED THE OPERATIONS OF THE 2005 UNIVERSITY-WIDE BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION
- SIFE was in charge of most of the operations of the 2005 B-Plan Competition.
- Managed 25-30 students from Introduction to Entrepreneurship 201 class and assigned them specific duties the day of the event. Not including the people participating from SIFE!!
- Marketed the competition through a brand new brochure/flyer, word of mouth, Buchtelite, ABJ).
- Raised funds for the B-Plan Competition. Set up our own SIFE booth. Marketed SIFE, talked about entrepreneurship, had a raffle with door prizes for the best business idea around the university to assist the University Park Alliance and the local area in business development.
PROJECT TASK 4: VOLUNTEERED AT THE HAVEN OF REST
The students competed in a regional competition based on these four projects and beat The Ohio State University.
