VENTURE CAPITAL

Carried Interest
"Carried interest" is the term used to denote the profit split of proceeds to the general partner. This is the general partners’ fee for carrying the management responsibility plus all the liability and for providing the needed expertise to successfully manage the investment. There are as many variations of this profit split both in the size and how it is calculated and accrued.

(The venture capital section was adapted
from NVCA's What is Venture Capital)
