Name: Jim Sage
Title: VP of IT and CIO at The University of Akron


  • MS IS, CIO Academy - Emory University (2002)
  • BS, MIS and Operations Management - The University of Akron (1987)
  • Jim is an Information Technology (IT) professional with over 25+ years of progressive experience. He's held almost all the roles in IT from computer operator to senior IT management.
  • For the past 20 years, He has led the IT organizations at Agilysys, formerly Pioneer-Standard Electronics; OfficeMax and Camelot Music. Jim also had extensive exposure to acquisition due diligence and integrations, warehousing, distribution, logistics, facilities and real estate.

    Specialities: Blend of Business and IT Strategy, E-Business Strategy and Technology, Program and Project Management, Acquisition / Integration / Divestiture, Organization and Staff Development, Change Management Leadership ,Real Estate and Facilities.
