The University Theatre presents this brilliant comedy of manners and
acerbic wit that integrates three plots: a comic version of the Cain-and-Able
story, a timeless account of a May-and-December marriage, and a sharp attack
on the malice of fashionable London society.
Written in 1777 by Richard Brinsley Sheridan; directed by Mark S. Auburn,
leading scholar on Sheridan.
