Pentathlon
- In the Pentathlon there are five different events
which is the Stadion, Dishos(discos),
- Halma(long jump), Akon(javelin), and
Pale(wrestling). If any one athlete won three of the five events then he
was declared the winner.
- The ideal pentathlete should have long hands and
long fingers so that he can palm the diskos
- and throw the akon. He should be well built and
tall. He has to have long legs to make a good runner.
- The winner of the Pentathlon would win 60 ampholoras
of olive oil valued at $23,760 and second
- place would win 12 amphoras of olive oil valued at
$4,752.
Javelin
- At Akon(javelin), accuracy won this evevt. Who ever
came the closest to hitting the target won.

Discus
- At the Dickos(discus) event, every competitor had
five throws and whoever threw the greatest
- distance won. Again accuracy was hard in this event.

Long Jump
- The Halma(long jump) had landing pits of a distance
of 50 feet and the pit was called
- shamma. The athletes dug their own pits. The judge
can tell how far the competitors could jump by two good footprints in the
sand. Also the competitors had halters(jumping weights) which were to help
them in jumpimg for distance. The average weight of the halters were four
lb.s. In this event there was a avls(flute) played and it's job was to
keep rhythm while the competitors were running towards the pit.

Wrestling
- At Pale(wrestling), to win the competitor must throw
his opponent to the ground three times.
- To be counted as a fall the competitor's back,
shoulders, or hip must hit the ground. Another way is if your opponent
raises his right hand with the index finger pointed.
