Welcome to Dance InstituteCelebrating 41 years of DanceDance Institute of the University of Akron is a year-round pre-professional preparatory dance program for children ages 3 through 18, conveniently located on the campus of the University of Akron. Dance Institute is dedicated to promoting optimal personal and physical growth and a challenging, positive environment for dance students. Our ballet based program offers regular and rigorous training in jazz, modern, and tap. Dance Institute also offers non-credit evening classes for adult students. The University of Akron is an institutionally accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Dance (NASD).
