Recent Dance Graduates Expand Professional Careers
Danni Schager, a 2007 UA BA Dance graduate who currently resides in Chicago, became a member this past summer of the Chicago Bull's dance team, The Luvabuls. About her new experience she writes, "It is definitely a huge transition from our University program, yet I still feel confident in what I am doing. We stick to all forms of Jazz and Hip Hop and everything we have done has been absolutely amazing."
She credits Dance Faculty at Akron for her recent success; " I truly appreciate everything that every single one of you has done for me."
Eleho Temuru, a recent UA dance graduate who relocated to Chicago to pursue a career in dance, has joined Deeply Rooted Productions. Grateful for this opportunity, Eleho comments; " My contract will be from September to June and it's considered by me to be a breakthrough and a blessing...but now all the hard work begins."
Kristen Stilwell, a 2005 UA BFA dance graduate and a dancer with Dancing Wheels in Cleveland, was recently named the Company's School Coordinator and Administrator. About her new position with the company she says; " I am doing a lot of networking, and meeting many people on nonprofit organizations in Northeastern Ohio. Thank you so much for instilling the importance of networking in me when I was a student at Akron. I fully realize how useful it is to network."
Jenna Wagner, a 2006 UA BA Dance graduate, recently joined Joel Hall II, the second Company of the Chicago based Joel Hall Dancers. Enthusiastic about her addition to the company, Jenna wrote to faculty member Cydney Spohn expressing her thanks and included the following; "I start rehearsals soon for our first performance in November! If you could tell the rest of the faculty I said thank you for helping me get this far..."
Melissa Thomas, a 2001 UA BFA graduate wrote to share her excitement about being selected to perform in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular this year at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. |
