Junebug Productions Artistic Director John O'Neal Residency Planned

Junebug Productions of New Orleans, LA is an acclaimed African American theatre company that creates, produces, and presents high quality theatre, dance, and music that inspire and support people who work for justice in the world at large. Artistic Director John O'Neal will be in residence on The University of Akron campus for three days during Race Relations Week, February 5, 6, 7 2008. He will perform his play Don't Start Me to Talking or I'll Tell You Everything I Know, a remarkable collection of six tales and anecdotes as told by the folkloric character, Junebug Jabbo Jones. Mr. O'Neal will also conduct workshops and story circles with student organizations, classes, and other interested groups to introduce The Color Line Project, a national initiative of Junebug Productions that engages artists, educators, and communities in collecting, performing, and archiving the stories of those involved in and impacted by the Civil Rights Movement.
