In the summer of 2001 Dr. Susan Colville-Hall (Curricular and Instructional Studies), and Dr. Matt Wyszynski (Modern Languages) received a grant from the Fullbright Hayes Group Project Abroad and the Ohio Board of Regents to conduct a seminar in Costa Rica. Twenty-two teachers from Northern Ohio's elementary, secondary, and post-secondary schools attended classes and lived with Costa Rican teachers in the San JosČ valley for four weeks.

The goal of the seminar, pre-seminar orientation, follow-up activities and dissemination of project materials, was to improve both the teaching of the Spanish language and to better understand Latin American culture.
