Admission is competitive, so students should take care in preparing their application materials. Each applicant must complete a 150-word essay entitled, "Why I hope to participate in the Summer Honors Institute." Essays should be attached to the application form, are now available. (See the links at the left.)
Eligibility Criteria
Students who apply should meet the following criteria:
- Identified as gifted learners by The Ohio Administrative Code: OAC 3301-51-15(A) and (C)
- High academic ability and/or demonstrated achievement in verbal, mathematical, and/or special talent area.
- High level of motivation.
- Sophomore or junior academic standing by Fall 2008
Recommendations
A school principal, guidance counselor, teacher, or Gifted/Talented Coordinator should recommend students. Please use the application/eligibility forms provided on this website. (Feel free to duplicate them as necessary.)
