The English Language Institute (ELI) at The University of Akron offers the Community and Corporate ESL Program (CCESL) to meet the diverse language learning needs of a diverse population: speakers of English as a second language (ESL) in Northeast Ohio.

• Specialized Language Consulting Services, including editing services for ESL writers, resume writing, and language assessment.

The ELI's CCESL faculty have a world of experience...

ELI faculty have advanced degrees in Teaching English as a Second Language or a related field and/or extensive experience in teaching English to students from many different countries. Many of our instructors have lived, worked, or traveled overseas. They have firsthand experience with adjusting to life in a new country and language.
