The overarching purpose of the Working Group is to improve the quality of life of people who are dying and their loved ones. Because research has clearly and repeatedly documented that psychological, interpersonal, and societal issues are the greatest determinants of people's perceived quality of life when they are dying, we focus our service, research, education, and policy efforts on these "psychosocial" issues.
