I am surprised nobody has mentioned Mordecai Richler's Oh Canado, Oh Quebec:
Requiem for a Divided Country.  It is not exactly a work of history in the
scholarly sense but it certainly represents a deeply held set of beliefs
in Quebec and Canada today about the war period.
