Fall Semester Progress Checks for new Honors students.
How's your progress? That's the main question we'll ask you during your individual fall semester "progress check" with one of the Honors counselors/ administrators. We ask each new Honors scholar to make an appointment by calling the Honors office (ext. 7966), with appointments starting September 28. This personal update is a real benefit for our Honors students! It's also a requirement. We want to meet with all new Honors students, and will start to get after those who haven't at least called to make an appointment by October 10.

During the personal Progress Check, we'll ask you to comment on these aspects of your college experience:

1. academics

2. appropriateness of your career choice

3. your adjustment to college

4. evaluation of your living and learning environment

5. clarification of the Honors Program curriculum

6. assessment of the quality of the relationship with your Faculty Advisor

7. completion of remaining paperwork (i.e. bypass and/or AP credit, etc)

8. your involvement with extracurricular activities

9. your financial and employment situation

10. scheduling issues

It's never to early to make an appointment for your progress check! Call the office at 330-972-7966 now. Remember, this is a benefit and a requirement of the program. Failure to schedule a progress check during the fall semester could result in re-evaluation of your status as an Honors student, but it's also a great time to talk to an Honors advisor/administrator about what's happening.
