Senior Honors Project Funds

Research grants are available through the Honors College, on a matching basis, to reimburse students for some of the research costs of their Senior Honors Projects. These funds can be used for equipment and supplies, although they are not available for travel expenses, photocopying, or typing.

A grant can not exceed 50 percent of total costs, up to a maximum of $250 in matching funds from the Honors College.

To apply, first secure a signed commitment of matching funds from your academic department, college, or other source. Then submit a proposal for funding to the Honors. The proposal should include:

  • description of the research
  • a copy of the signed commitment of matching funds
  • an itemized estimate of anticipated expenditures

The application will be reviewed and recipients will be notified of awards as soon as possible.

To receive these funds in reimbursement of research expenses, you must submit to the Honors an itemized and documented report of your expenditures. Payment will be made when that report is accepted.

Since funds are limited, you should apply promptly. If you have a question, call the Honors office (330-972-7966).
