Impacts of Our Project

The recycling of vulcanized elastomers has become a major environmental and social issue and an area of tremendous interest for the academic and industrial community.  The development of a novel technique for reclaiming rubber and crosslinked plastics based on new scientific evidences will have a significant impact on further expansion of the recycling technology base, through process optimization and new discoveries.  A better understanding of the mechanisms of devulcanization will help to devise a methodology to control the properties of reclaimed products.  Research in this field will be a significant step toward the development of a technology base.  This new technology will revolutionnize the way rubber and crosslinked plastics are recycled.
