SCOPE AND PURPOSE: The library collection in support of curriculum
and
research for the Arts Administration program in the School of Dance,
Theatre Arts, and Arts Administration includes materials necessary for
advanced study level collection in audience development, fund raising and
grantsmanship, legal aspects, practices and policies, marketing,
management and organizational behavior, and accounting.
CURRICULUM: The masters degree in arts management requires
coursework in
audience development, fund raising and grantsmanship, legal aspects,
practices and policies, marketing, management and organizational behavior,
and accounting.
GEOGRAPHICAL COVERAGE: There are no limits on geographical
coverage. The literature supporting arts administration studies is ninety
percent American, five percent Western European and British Isles, and
five percent other.
LANGUAGE: Nearly one hundred percent of the literature is in
English
PERIOD COVERAGE: Period coverage is from the beginnings of art
and/or nonprofit organizations through the present with seventy-five
percent on the last half of the 20th century, five percent on all dates
earlier, and twenty percent current.
PUBLICATION TYPES: Emphasis is placed on a highly specialized and
comprehensive reference collection. Scholarly works, descriptive works,
empirical and historical studies, theoretical studies, professional
treatments, research reports, and handbooks are needed for all areas of
concentration in arts administration. A strong serials collection is
supported.

and/or nonprofit
organizations are purchased for this collection. All other business
related materials are purchased by the business bibliographer.
  Law related materials specific to arts
and/or nonprofit organizations are purchased for this collection. All
other law related materials are purchased by the law school.
  Museum related materials are purchased on
both art and arts administration budgets.
FORMATS: Print monographs and journals are emphasized. Electronic
access
to web-based materials is essential. An alphabetical listing of

REMOTE SOURCES: The library is a member of the Center for Research
Libraries (CRL) which is available for faculty and student research. The
library is a member of OhioLINK - a statewide library and information
network linking universities, colleges, technical and community colleges
and the State Library of Ohio. The central catalog maintains location and
availability information for the more than 31 million items held in 79
OhioLINK participating libraries.
EXCLUSIONS: Popular works and textbooks are not collected.
