How to Identify and Locate Government Documents

Many of the library's government documents can be located, like books,  by searching ZipLINK, the library's online catalog.

For example, suppose you did a SUBJECT search in ZipLINK on the phrase, "Global Warming"....

You will find government publications on the subject displayed along with books.  You can tell the government documents because of the location given (Bierce Govt Doc) and by examining the call numbers:  call numbers with slashes (/) or colons (:) indicate U.S. government documents.  These are called Superintendent of Documents, or SUDOC numbers.
