The best place to start your library research is the Library's Gateway to Information. From the Gateway main menu you can gain access to all of Library's essential online catalogs, indexes, and research databases.
The Gateway is available on computers within
the Libraries and on the Web at this address:
http://www.uakron.edu/library/gateway
Using the Gateway, you can find
books & articles, search the Web,
view your
Library record, read
Reserve materials, submit loan requests,
get research help, and more.
While the ZipLINKand OhioLINK catalogs are open to anyone,
most of the other electronic resources and databases on the Gateway
require the use of a UANET ID for access. If you are a student,
faculty, or staff member of the University of Akron and
don't already have your UANet ID,
you can request it from the Library's Gateway.
The pages of this tutorial explain how to best use many of these resources. Let's start with a brief overview of the research process.... Please click
