General Information
about Faverges and its Surroundings
Faverges, a small French city with a population of about seven thousand, is located a few miles south of Lake Annecy. The city is surrounded by mountains, several of which tower over a mile above the town.
At the northern end of the lake, some thirty minutes away by bus,
is the scenic French city of Annecy, one of Europe's most beautiful
cities. (Annecy is itself about thirty minutes south of Geneva,
Switzerland). Along the lakeshore are a number of notable resorts,
including Talloires, famed for its fine restaurants and
hotels, and Duingt,
which has often been called one of France's most beautiful villages.
The Lake Annecy webcam
is located in Duingt, and shows the view across the peninsula
toward the "Lanfonnet" and "Dents de Lanfon"
mountains to the east. The webcam updates every hour during the
day, and allows you to see the weather conditions in the area.
