The
1997 University of Akron Summer Program in the Alps ran from
May 16th to June 25th. Illustrated reports were posted on this
web site every few days, showing students' activities and places
visited. The group visited the city of Paris during the first
weekend in June; other visits included Aime, Annecy, Chamonix,
Geneva (Switzerland), Cormet de Roselend mountain pass, St Germain,
Morette, Montmin, and many other sites too numerous to mention.
The weather was most favorable this year, and students enjoyed
summer temperatures and sunshine during most of the six weeks
of the Program. Reports were filed starting with the arrival
of students in Geneva and Faverges on May 17th and ended on the
day of their departure, June 25th.
