Note:  The Final Exam will NOT be given early; any make-up final exams will have to be scheduled AFTER the regularly scheduled final exam period.  Only severe illness documented by a physician will be accepted as an excuse.

COURSE DESCRIPTION AND GRADING PROCEDURES:
Texts:

Goals of German 101-201:
German 101-103 emphasizes all four language skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing) and
will: Grading: Note: Submit your work in advance if you anticipate an excused absence. Unexcused absences will significantly lower your final grade. If your absences accumulate to one third or more of the whole semester, your overall course grade might result in an F. In case of an accident, major illness, etc. inform your instructor as soon as possible and provide written proof of inability to attend in order to avoid a deduction of points. Being late for class will also lower your attendance grade.

* You will receive 2 participation grades during the semester. They will count for the overall participation grade, and will be based partly on your classroom participation and partly on the extent to which you are prepared to participate in the daily class work.
