The
religion and philosophy of Islam, is based upon the belief that
God (Allah) transmitted knowledge to Muhammad (c. 570–632) and
other prophets (Adam, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus). The followers
of Islamic religion, Muslims, believe that this revelation to
humanity was written down in the Quran, which is the flawless
word of God.
The theology of the Islamic scriptures informs most aspects of
Muslim life and culture. The Five Pillars of Islam is expressed
in the Quran (Koran), which is a practical doctrine that
encourages Muslims to pray 5 times a day, fast during Ramadan,
pilgrimage to Mecca, declare 'There is no god but God, and
Muhammad is his prophet' and pay money to the poor.
Muslim Students
Association (MSA)
Muslim Students Association
(MSA) is a registered student organization at the University of
Akron that provides an environment where Muslim
students from all different regions and backgrounds can come
together. It is the goal of MSA to educate Muslims and
non-Muslims about Islam through a variety of activities and
events. In the process, MSA is also aiming to clarify any
misunderstandings or misconceptions about Islam and Muslims.
MSA has
many goals that include:
Promoting a better
understanding of Islam among Muslims and non-Muslims at the
University of Akron.
Providing Information
about Islam to all interested at the University of Akron
students, faculty and staff.
Providing a support group
for Muslim students on campus.
Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with other
organizations and associations inside the community.
Participating by all
possible means in serving our school and maintaining a
better environment for the students.

انه لمن دواعي سرونا أن نتقدم لكم جميا بالشكر والتقدير والأحترام
لما قدمتموه جميعا من دعم وتأييد الذي تجمع فيه الخيرة وعملوا
كالجسد الواحد.حيث يقول الحبيب المصطفى عليه أفضل الصلاة وأتمّ
التسليم :(مثلُ المؤمنين في توادهم وتراحمهم وتعاطفهم كمثل الجسد
الواحد إذا اشتكى منه عضو تداعى له سائر الجسد بالحمى والسهر ) ،
ونسأل الله عز وجل أن نكون قادرين على أن نقدم ما فيه منفعة لديننا
الحنيف ولما فيه صلاح لكم جميعا.
أخواني وأخواتي الطلبه،
الإنسان المسلم يفترض فيه أن تكون شخصيته إيجابية، مقبلة على
الحياة، متفاعلة معها، ولأن الإنسان المسلم مطالب باستيفاء شروط
الخلافة في الأرض والسعي في مناكبها عبادةً لله، وإعماراً للأرض،
واستفادة مما فيها من ثروات وخيرات لا يصل إليها إلا بالعمل والعمل
الجاد. لذلك كانت مطالبة الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم أن يتقن
الإنسان عمله: (إن الله يحب إذا عمل أحدكم عملاً أن يتقنه).
فالإتقان سمة أساسية في الشخصية يربيها الإسلام فيه منذ ان يدخل
فيه، وهي التي تحدث التغيير في سلوكه ونشاطه. ولربما كان اختياركم
لنا اليوم دليل قوي على ذلك.
فنحن مطالبون بترسيخ هذه القيمة التربوية الحياتية في واقعنا
وسلوكنا وخصوصا عندما نعيش في المجتمعات غير المسلمة. فليكون هدفنا
أن نكون الأفضل في تعاملنا مع أنفسنا وفي تعاملنا مع غيرنا مسلما
كان أو غير مسلم.
فهذا ما أوصي نفسي وأوصيكم به ، فأنتم الأهل والعشيرة، وأنتم
الأخوة الذين أفتخر بالأنتساب لهم.
وفقكم الله وسدد على الخير خطانا
