The Escape

Roger Zackery jumped into the cockpit of his X-3000 fighter jet, raced down the runway of the airfield in Bogata, and soared into the air. Roger was a member of the CIA on his way to a secret mission to find a smuggling ring in the jungles of South America. Two hours later, as he neared his target, he was hit by artillery fire. The damaged plane swerved toward the trees and Roger had to bail out.

Roger floated to the ground in his parachute. As he landed, he was struck on the head violently from behind. Three days later he awoke in a small wooden jail. His legs and hands were shackled together with a large chain. For two years Roger was a captive in this strange jungle prison where he was tortured and starved, living in horrible conditions. Finally, he saw a chance to escape.

One day, thinking Roger was sleeping, the guard turned his back to Roger’s cell and lit a cigarette. Roger reached through the bars, grabbed the guard's neck and choked him unconscious. Using the key in the guard’s pocket, Roger freed himself and scrambled into the woods, and three weeks later made his way back to civilization and freedom.
