Abel Bartley, a specialist in African American history, is former director of Pan-African studies at the University of Akron and has recently accepted a similar post at Clemson University. He is the author of Keeping the Faith: Race, Politics and Social Development in Jacksonville, Florida, 1940 - 1970 (2000).

Adam Criblez recently completed his thesis, entitled "From Grog-Punch to Hard Cider: Tavern Culture on Ohio's Western Reserve, 1796-1840", under the tutelage of Dr. Jon Wakelyn at Kent State University. He is currently attending Purdue University where he plans to continue his research into 19th century taverns.

Jack Geick is a filmmaker and historian who produced the last motion picture of Akron history in 1977 and authored A Photo Album of Ohio's Canal Era (1988).

Matt Lautzenheiser earned his Master's degree from the University of Akron and is a historian for the Western Reserve Historical Society.

Christopher S. Stowe is a Ph.D. candidate in American History at the University of Toledo.  His specialties include the American Civil War and Reconstruction, U.S. military history, Native American studies, and the Atlantic World.  Chris is currently finishing his doctoral dissertation, a critical biography of George Gordon Meade.

Gregory Wilson is Assistant Professor of History at the University of Akron, specializing in environmental history, public history, and political history of the United States.  Dr. Wilson is also Publication Director of the Northeast Ohio Journal of History.
