Mission:

The mission of the Clinical Nursing Research network is to promote clinical nursing research in order to achieve excellence in health care delivery.

Objectives:

  • Educate and develop research skills within the network membership and the nursing community at large.
  • Support clinical based nursing research studies.
  • Promote evidenced-based nursing practice.
  • Promote appropriate membership and organizational structure to serve the mission of the organization.

Strategies and Action Plans:

  • Educate nurses regarding research skills and process.
    • Include an educational presentation at meetings as appropriate.
    • Support regional research workshops.
    • Networking with other organizations:

o        Sigma Theta Tau Chapters

o        Hospital Based Nursing Research Committees

o        Akron-Canton Regional Organization of Nurse Executives

o        Pentagon Council

  • Support clinical based nursing research studies.
    • Facilitate research endeavors among participants.
    • Link members with ideas, activities, and resources regarding research opportunities
  • Promote evidenced-based nursing practice.
    • Facilitate research utilization/evidence-based practice among participants.
  • Promote appropriate membership and organizational structure to serve the mission of the organization.
    • Open membership to other health care professionals, individuals, or organizations.
