Leadership Leadership is a key focus in the BSN programs at the University of Akron. Student Affairs coordinates two all-college leadership events - one each Fall (open to all College of Nursing students) and one each Spring (by Dean's invitation only). Living/Learning Communities The College of Nursing is very pleased to provide several freshmen living/learning community options for students preferring a close-knit, supportive learning experience. New freshmen interested in learning communities are encouraged to schedule the earliest possible date for New Student Orientation, as availability in nursing learning communities is limited.
Scholarships Many different scholarships and other assistance programs are available to nursing students. Scholarship applications are accepted every March for current College of Nursing students. Special Events Each year, a Career Fair is held in the College of Nursing to bring health care providers from all over northern Ohio to meet with students and discuss various job opportunities. The event is organized by the Collegiate Nursing Club and Student Affairs. This event is always a very positive experience for both the students and employers. Employment Resource Links
