Akron Cricket Club (ACC) was formed by a group of cricket enthusiasts from University of Akron around 1996. ACC's aim is to organize intramural cricket tournaments and participate in bigger cricket leagues (Midwest Cricket tournament) in and around Ohio.
The Midwest Cricket Tournament, one of the most prestigious tournament in Ohio, was started by University of Akron Students.
Each year we have 4 main activities. We have 2 intramural cricket tournaments one in the Fall and another in the Spring. Anybody from the University of Akron can be a part of this tournament. Intramural games are played with a tennis ball.
The other 2 activities are participation in 20-20 league and Midwest Cricket Tournament in the summer. Both of these tournaments are played with season/leather ball. Matches are played in Cleveland and Columbus.
We mainly practice outdoors (Buchtel Field) in fall semester and indoors (in Rec Center) in spring semester.
