The English Team was created in 2002 and currently trains out of Stoney Ridge Stables in Wadsworth, Ohio. We compete in regional shows with several other teams and are coached by Laura Hearty. The English team competes in Equitation on the Flat and Over Fences.
We encourage riders with all levels of experience to join. The only requirements that are needed to join one of the teams are to be a full-time University of Akron Student and to have an interest in riding horses! Please contact us for more information.
The IHSA is designed for riders with all levels of experience. The different divisions are as follows: Walk Trot, Walk Trot Canter, Novice, Intermediate, and Open. Riders in each division will compete against other riders from our region.
All members of the team are required to take lessons from our coach as well as attend the shows. We also participate in fundraising and community service.
The English Team is always looking for new members in the fall, no experience required! The team is a great place to meet new people and have fun riding horses.
