The Green Dragon Kung Fu Club at the University of Akron gives students and members of the university community an opportunity to explore their interest in the conditioning and self-defense benefits of the classical Chinese martial arts.
Each semester opens with a special informative meeting and an action packed video for anyone interested in learning more. New members are invited at the beginning of each semester.
The Green Dragon Kung Fu Club has been a registered student organization at The University of Akron since 1972. The club with a history of classical Chinese martial arts that includes world-wide recognition represented by over 30 major Chinese styles includes Northern and Southern Shaolin, Monkey, Drunken Style, Praying Mantis, Snake, White Eyebrow, White Lotus and more, as well as being the only program in the country that can teach all 72 of the classical Chinese weapons.
The express purpose of this club is to provide a medium within the The University of Akron community through which hands-on exposure to various classical Chinese Martial Art styles may be attained.
